Here, published for the first time anywhere, is the mystical key to a 2,500 year-old secret heretofore known only to a select few. The wisest being who ever lived, the original discoverer of the path to contentment and fulfillment, was neither king nor prince nor even a leader among men. In fact, he was not even human. This remarkable teacher was an orange tabby cat.
Buddha Kitty was Siddhartha’s teacher and guide on the young man’s path to enlightenment. Without Buddha Kitty’s teachings, Siddhartha might never have become the Buddha. Buddha Kitty traveled throughout the countryside teaching cats how to keep their minds and bodies in balance so that they might live in peace and contentment. His teachings form the very basis of the most sacred and mysterious feline activities.
What follows is told by Kundalani Kitty, a well-respected follower and direct descendent of the Buddha Kitty. Kundalani revealed Buddha Kitty's teachings to me, his human, after I figured out that, rather than sleeping sixteen hours a day, he was actually meditating. Realizing that the teachings of Buddha Kitty had as much to offer humans as they do cats, I encouraged Kundalani to share this ancient wisdom with all who might care to learn.

My name is Kundalani Kitty.
I am a follower of the precepts set forth by the Buddha Kitty, a great, enlightened feline who lived 2,500 years ago.
The Buddha Kitty believed that all life is interconnected and constantly changing.
He believed that the mind affects the body just as the body affects the mind.
He also believed that life is filled with suffering.
An example of such suffering is being expected to stay in a room just because a human has closed the door.
The Buddha Kitty found the path to liberation through such suffering.
He stated that every cat has within him or herself the ability to go down this path to attain liberation.
The Buddha Kitty demonstrated that through practice—meditation, yoga, insisting upon frequent petting—a cat can balance the mind and body. Many behaviors of cats that other species find mysterious and odd actually derive from such practice.
His teachings, known as the Catma, show how a cat can overcome suffering and live a happy, peaceful life.
Buddha Kitty also stated that, despite the obviously limited intelligence of humans, those few sufficiently enlightened to follow the Catma can also overcome suffering and become happy.
I wrote this book not simply as an explanation of some of the many misunderstood cat ways, but also to help interested humans live more fulfilling lives.
